About Chinese Culture University

Chinese Culture University was founded in 1962 by Dr. Chang Chi-yun together with the Chinese Culture Enterprise Foundation Committee. The originally planned name was "Far East University", later changed to "Chinese Culture College".

The institution began with a research division — the Chinese Culture Research Institute, covering 12 disciplines. In 1963 the daytime undergraduate division admitted students across 15 departments, followed by a night division of four departments. In 1980 the Ministry of Education approved its upgrade to Chinese Culture University.

The university's stated purpose is to advance Chinese culture and scholarship under the principle of "inheriting the traditions of East and West, gathering the best of home and abroad": weighting humanities, social sciences and technology together, and pairing teaching with research. Its motto is "plainness and perseverance".

Before submitting an application

Before choosing a programme, check the exact course title, study level, intake and current tuition on the institution's official source. A typical file begins with a passport, academic transcripts, qualifications and language results when the programme requires them. Translation or certification should only be arranged against the stated requirement, avoiding unnecessary cost. M2W and a vetted advisory partner review the file for completeness, compare the details with the institution and identify anything that still needs to be supplied. The institution makes the final admissions decision. Visa processing is a separate step, and neither admission nor a visa outcome can be guaranteed in advance. Applicants should keep copies of every submitted document and monitor requests through their M2W account.
