About National Taipei University of Nursing and Health Sciences

National Taipei University of Nursing and Health Sciences (NTUNHS) was founded in 1954 as the Taiwan Provincial Junior College of Nursing. In 1963 it merged with the Taipei Senior Vocational School of Medicine (founded 1947) to form a five-year junior college of nursing and midwifery.

It became the National Taipei Nursing College in 1981, was reformed into the National Taipei College of Nursing in 1994, and received Ministry of Education approval for its current name in August 2010.

Per the university's introduction, it is Taiwan's first higher-education institution for nursing and health studies and the only one in the vocational education system offering a doctoral nursing programme.
