Jinwen University of Science and Technology (JUST) was founded in 1990 in Xindian District, New Taipei City, by Mr. Wan-Li Chang, then named Jin-wen Industrial and Commercial College.
The initial intake comprised 17 classes across six departments: electronic engineering, international trade, business management, accounting and statistics, banking and insurance, and electronic data processing.
In step with Taiwan's technical and vocational education policy, the institution was subsequently upgraded to the Jin-Wen Institute of Technology and then to its present status as a university of science and technology.
